Jackie Jones (Jackie J) has been playing since she was 12 years old. She fell in love with the sound of a Telecaster after seeing Buck Owens and the Buckaroos at the county fair. After seeing Don Rich pick his Tele it was all over!
Oddly, in high school she played 60s rock rather than country. She snuck in a few country tunes even back then. She had the opportunity in the 1970s to meet many of the country stars and learn a few licks from some of them. She was raised in Ohio and West Virginia and spent time touring in several states including all the way out in California.
Jackie’s passion is classic country music! You know the kind. A good story set to hot picking and a pedal steel guitar. The music is about the lyrics. Jackie plays lead guitar, steel guitar, mandolin, bass and banjo.
She has a passion for writing the songs that tell the story. Only now has she started to record the songs in her library of originals. Stay tuned for more “New” Classic Country.
